Q: Will the SteamJet 5000 hurt my cars?finish?

A: No, it is completely safe for all car finishes and clear coats.

Q: How big is the SteamJet 5000?

A: The dimensions are 19.7"W x 35.4"L x 30.7"H.

Q: Is the SteamJet 5000 portable?

A: Yes, it fits easily into a van, SUV or pickup.

Q: Does it draw much power?

A: No, less than 100 watts.

Q: Is it expensive to operate?

A: No, less than $0.50 per car wash when you consider water, propane, electricity & wax.

Q: What size propane tank should I use?

A: The SteamJet 5000 can house a 1 gal. or 2.5 gal. (fitted in inside of machine). If you will not move the machine, any size propane tank you can use.

Q: How often will I have to refill the propane tank?

A: The 2.5 gal. tank is good for approximately 100 small cars.

Q: What does the SteamJet 5000 weigh?

A: 136.7 lbs. 

Q: How many cars can you wash on one tank full of water?

A: Approximately 15 small cars depending on size of vehicle and the operator.

Q: How long does it take to steam wash a car with the SteamJet 5000?

A: Anywhere between 5 - 15 minutes depending on the size of the vehicle.With two units and two operators it could be done in just a few minutes.      

Q: Do I need a drain or collection tank for the water runoff?

A: No, because there's no water discharge.  Probably this point alone makes the SteamJet 5000 the most environmentally friendly piece of equipment of its kind on the market.

Q: What kind of water should I use?

A: The best water to use is distilled so there will be no water marks. Purified water with a rating of 1-2 PPM of dissolved solids is also acceptable and will produce a great result.Have your water tested if you're not sure.  Most water stores are happy to test your water for you free of charge.

Q: How much wax do I use?

A: 6 ounces is all you need each time you fill up the SteamJet 5000.  Fill the tank half way, add the wax, then the rest of the water. 

Q: Do you provide training with the SteamJet 5000?

A: Yes, we will arrange to train you intensively so you can be out making money right away.Usually the first day you will be qualified to operate the SteamJet 5000 professionally.  Learning the many aspects of detailing and becoming competent naturally takes longer.  The entire training package can be delivered inside of a week.Your actual schedule will be worked out with you before you start.

Q: What can I charge for a car wash or detail job?

A: That's up to you.  We do have information from professional surveys conducted across the country that can help you determine the pricing for your area.  Let us know if you need help with this.

Q: Can you run this from a generator?  

A: Yes, a 2000 watt generator should be sufficient to run the SteamJet 5000 as well as a buffing tool and vacuum simultaneously.  Honda makes a very quiet and reliable 2000 watt generator which we carry in our inventory.  You may also want to opt for a 2000 watt converter that you can attach to your car battery.  We carry these as well.
